The United States Navy’s “Great White Fleet” arrived in Auckland on August 9th 1908. Sixteen battleships, part of a world tour, steamed into the Waitemata Harbour The fleet’s arrival was a major event, watched by large crowds and covered extensively by the media.

The card some edges /corners wear and age, there is also to the back an ink mark by the postage stamp/
