I think this image of Napier town was taken in the 1880s on Burtons second trip to the North Island so this may be 1885 or 1886.
Nice early image of Napier buildings before the 1931 earthquake of course which saw most of this destroyed.
The album paper photo does not lie flat, penciled to back New Zealand, photo number 3440.
