Drews Jewellers had a store in Victoria avenue Wanganui from 1884
Drews Jewellers originated with Samuel Henry Drew, a jeweller, watchmaker, and naturalist who established a successful business in Whanganui in 1864. The family business continued through his descendants and was based at 19 Victoria Avenue, a historic building. The firm closed its operations in the late 1990s after continuing until the 1990s, leaving behind a legacy tied to the founding of the Whanganui Regional Museum, which he also established.
