WW2 Photo taken by soldier at Colombo shows the new Japanese liner Brasil Maru On her maiden Voyage, here she was simply on a cruise as this convoy was heading to Egypt.

Once Japan entered the war she was taken by the Gov’t and used as a troop and POW transport and it was in 1942 an American Submarine sank her with great loss of life in the pacific.

The photo measures 80MM x 55 mm approx. Some age /some wear.
